  3. Too Tan

There is absolutely nothing wrong about getting a tan. There is also nothing wrong about loving a darker shade of your skin color. However, when something is done in extreme then something is an aberration to that person. Take for example this New Jersey mom who is tan beyond tan and was even alleged that she took her 5 year old daughter in a tanning both where the young kid sustained burns.

I read this article from Yahoo and cannot help but think of appropriate adjectives to describe the overly tan mother. I read the comments that followed the article and cannot help but snicker because of the readers comments. I read other articles about her too and found the comments to be amusing and hurtful. Some mentioned she looked like a poop with blonde hair, the others said, she looked like a 1000 year old mummy, some said she’s the new Barbecue Barbie and even Snooki’s tan will pale in comparison to hers.

What is wrong with her? Is she too vain or what? Doesn’t she know the ill-effects of overly tanning and it can cause melanoma which is the harshest skin cancer? I just can’t believe how people can sometimes be so twisted when it comes to beauty.  And who even said that super-tanned color is attractive?

Nobody likes to flash plaque-ridden teeth. So make it a habit to observe proper oral hygiene. Here are some tips to have a good smile with a clean pearly set of teeth:

    • Always drink water or cranberry juice after eating sweets or desserts. Why cranberry juice as another option? Well, a molecule in cranberries cuts acid production of some bacteria. It also helps them from sticking to teeth. That is why I always tell my daughter who is a chocolate lover to wash down the sweets with water or cranberry juice after eating.
    • Avoid consuming sodas or fizzy drinks. Sodas are acidic and aids in eroding tooth enamel. Not only that, these kinds of drinks are loaded with sugar which can lead to obesity and diabetes.
    • Chew sugarless gum. Chewing stimulates the production of saliva which is our body’s natural mouth rinse and gums with xylitol curbs the growth of bacteria in the mouth.
    • Brush and floss regularly. Don’t ever forget to do these. Make it a part of your personal hygiene to brush your teeth and floss regularly.
    • Go to your dentist regularly for check ups and oral prophylaxis or teeth cleaning.

  5. Fashion Trend for Spring 2012

    April 3, 2012 by redlips

Yes, spring has come! This year’s spring fashion is a smorgasbord of many styles and colors. I earlier posted in about the color’s of spring 2012 and now I will share what’s in store for all of your fashionistas out there this season.

This year’s spring will be about color blocks, oranges/tangerines/pastel colors, short suits, futuristic and bold prints, wedges/strappy sandals and flats, lady purses, and large tote bags in spring block colors.

The Gatsby look or the ones from the 60′s era may also become a staple in spring 2012′s fashion scene. That will surely be something interesting to see in the runway.
